Tries from Craig Letham and Jack Denton along with kicks from Finlay Smith made it 17-6 at half-time.

The visitors came back into the match, taking advantage of two sin-bins to lead 23-25. However Conner Littlejohn scored a try in the last play of the game to give the Blues victory.

Meanwhile the 2nd XV couldn't add to their first half score as they lost 13-35 to Carnoustie. The Colts won a hard, physical encounter 47-29 away to Ross Sutherland, their defence the difference between the two sides.
