Rhys Bonner receives a tie and tankard from club president Dave Foster after reaching 100 appearances.
Rhys Bonner is very much an underrated player in the division and is set make his 100th appearance for the 1st XV this weekend.

The 27 year-old has come up through the wee blues and youth ranks at the club, starting out at the age of 3 in 1997.

He has became a fan’s favourite, with his abrasive playing style, not too unlike his old man. A deceptive turn of pace, with an appetite for the physical nature of the game (which he must get from his mum!).

He was quite surprised of the upcoming milestone. “100 games is barry chap”, Bonner said.

“To be honest, I hadn’t realised because the appearances sort of tick along, so I’m happy to know about it! Obviously, last year wasn’t great, but for me personally, getting back into this season I’m looking to push on.”

The back-rower probably doesn’t get the recognition or credit he deserves. He works hard for his team and gets through a lot of work in defence. Well done Rhys and good luck to the team tomorrow - here’s to your next 100 games.

it was a tale of two halves as a fantastic second half performance gave the Blues a hard fought victory....
