? Loony Dook Volunteer Appreciation ?
Jimmy Bonner
In 1987 the annual loony dook started in South Queensferry. Around 2010 Kirkcaldy started their own Dook, with a young lady organising a small event.
In 2012 she asked Jimmy Bonner if he could take it on, through Kirkcaldy Rugby. Jimmy of course said ‘Yes!’
For 14 amazing years (and hopefully a few more!) Jimmy Bonner has volunteered his time, energy, and heart to organise the Kirkcaldy Loony Dook. What started as a splash of madness grew into a much-loved community event, thanks in no small part to Jimmy’s dedication behind the scenes.
Through his commitment and hard work, the Kirkcaldy Loony Dook has raised over £100,000 for charities and good causes, supporting countless people along the way. Jimmy’s willingness to give his time year after year shows the true spirit of volunteering — bringing people together, creating joy, and making a real difference.
Thank you, Jimmy, for 14 years of incredible service to the community. Your impact will be felt for years to come ??
