Congratulations to Stirling County on taking home the win in the men's tournament, and to Highland for their victory in the women's tournament! It was a brilliant showcase of sevens rugby with some outstanding performances across the board.
A massive thank you to all that contributed to a a brilliant day. Thanks also to all the supporters, match officials and players who made it such a great day of rugby. Especially all our volunteers who made it happen - with special mention to Alex Brooks (chief organiser), JB & Ross & Stevie M (BBQ), Don and big Muz sorting the match officials. And finally Julie and Val for organising the Ladies Lunch.
Stirling added their name to the Heggie Cup for the first time since 1988, beating last year's winners Highland 28-19 in a close final. Highland claimed the women's tournament with a last play try in their 22-19 final win over Pigbarians.
Both Kirkcaldy teams bowed out at the pool stage - The Blues winning against Pigbarians and Dundee but losing to Howe and Aberdeen, while Kirkcaldy's women narrowly lost to Howe in their opening game before defeat to Grangemouth and Highland.
