Senior rugby at Kirkcaldy RFC offers a competitive, ambitious environment for players looking to test themselves, develop their game and be part of a strong club culture built on commitment, pride and teamwork.
We run two senior sides, providing opportunities for players at different stages of their rugby journey — whether pushing for top‑level performance or returning to the game.

Head Coach
The senior programme is led by Head Coach Quintan Sanft, whose long‑standing involvement with the club continues to drive standards, structure and player development across both squads.
Training is built around clarity, accountability and progression, creating an environment where players are challenged and supported to improve.

The Blues – 1st XV
The Blues compete in Scottish National League Division 2, the third tier of club rugby in Scotland, alongside the National League Cup.
Led by 1st XV Captain Finlay Smith, this is a performance environment where standards are high and players are expected to train and play with intensity, discipline and ambition.

The Reds – 2nd XV
The Reds (2nd XV) compete in the Caledonia Midlands Region League Division 3, providing a strong platform for player development, match fitness and progression into the 1st XV.
Led by 2nd XV Captain Eoin Barker, the Reds play a key role in the squad system, ensuring depth, competition and opportunities across the club.

Training & Matchdays

Training: Tuesday & Thursday evenings (7pm)
Matches: Saturdays

Sessions are open to new players, with a focus on fitness, skills, structure and team cohesion. Selection across both sides is fluid, with performance driving progression.

Registration & Communication
All senior players are registered through Spond, which is used to:

Manage availability for training and matches
Communicate selection, fixtures and updates
Manage membership and payments

You’ll be prompted to download the app during sign‑up if needed.

SCRUMS Registration
All players must also be registered on SCRUMS to confirm eligibility and provide the insurance required for training and matches. Transfers from other clubs are handled through this system.

Membership & Player Sponsorship
Membership is managed via Spond, with full details provided during registration.
We also offer player sponsorship opportunities, which can help cover membership fees and provide training kit. This support helps reduce barriers and allows players to focus fully on rugby — speak to the club for more details.
